NAMM 2020 Recap
NAMM 2020 is in the bag and our new releases are out! In case you missed them, we’ve got your recap right here.
New Guild Electrics
As far as our electrics go, The Starfire I series takes the cake. Available in both single cut and double cut options. The Starfire I SC features a 2“ thick hollow body with an added bridge block to increase bridge stability and improved resonance. Made with a sturdy arched maple top, back, and sides, for the airy tonality of a hollow body instrument with bright overtones and pronounced lows the Starfire I SC is available in Seafoam Green, Snowcrest White and Antique Burst.
The Starfire I DC features semi-hollowbody construction utilizing a mahogany center block for reduced feedback and clear sustain. The Cherry Starfire I DC features an elegantly arched mahogany top, back, and sides; while the Starfire I DC in Pelham Blue model features an elegantly arched maple top, back, and sides.
A fresh take on a revered classic, the X-350 Stratford a fully hollow guitar sports an arched spruce top, maple back and sides, and inner spruce tone bar braces to help project its acoustics like a pre-pickup arch-top would.
The precedent for hollow body aesthetic and tone, the X-175 Manhattan Special in Malibu Blue finish looks as good as it sounds. With its gracefully sculpted and richly resonant hollow body, arched spruce top, and rock-solid three-piece neck, it exemplifies the quality building of the Guild Manhattan models of the 1950’s and ‘60s.
The perfect sonic platform for rock, R&B and every genre in between, the Aristocrat HH comes in Snowcrest White and Trans Black Burst. Featuring a chambered solid body, the Aristocrat HH provides the same stability and tone as a typical solid body but without the heaviness.
New Acoustic Guitars for 2020
Within our acoustic category the Guild USA series saw several new exciting additions this year including the show-stopping M-25E in California Burst, manufactured in Oxnard, California in a state-of-the-art facility, features added appointments and a gloss finished top and headstock. This concert size acoustic guitar is built with a solid mahogany top, back, and sides. Each M-25E comes with a hand-signed, numbered certificate of authenticity, and ships with a hardshell case.
We also welcomed the new Jumbo Junior Reserve Maple into the Westerly Collection. Whether on the couch, in the studio or on the go, the Jumbo Junior’s compact design allows you to have a Guild by your side at all times. Featuring a beautiful flamed maple back & sides, exotic padauk body and fretboard binding, padauk rosette, mother-of-pearl block inlays, and a light satin natural finish. Perfect for those who love the look of a jumbo, but may not love the size.
The F-55 Maple in Antique Burst and the F-512 Maple in Antique Burst are both made on the same arch press that’s been a part of Guild manufacturing since 1985, and provide sharply focused trebles and an articulate mid-range, perfect for a full, centralized, harp-like sound. Scroll on for some more behind the scenes fun.
