Guild^® Starfire guitars and basses are reimagined versions of some of our most iconic semi-hollow electric instruments. Part of the Newark St. Collection, they faithfully honor their ’60s-era legacy of exceptional quality and vibe while also adding contemporary touches that make them more relevant to today’s players. Numerous Starfire models were introduced throughout the 1960s, including both single- and double-cutaway guitars available with various pickup configurations and finishes and two basses. John Lennon, Dave Davies, Buddy Guy, Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, and Tom Fogerty all played Starfire guitars, and Phil Lesh and Jack Casady played Starfire basses.

Guild Starfire Custom guitars are the premier instruments in the Starfire line. They feature DeArmond^® Dynasonic single-coil pickups and our Custom trim package that includes ebony fingerboards, extensive binding and purfling, mother-of-pearl inlays, tortoise pickguards, and other premium appointments—including gold hardware on GH models. Starfire Custom guitars offer various combinations of tonewoods, hardware aesthetics, and gorgeous gloss finishes

Guild Starfire Deluxe guitars include single-cutaway and double-cutaway models and feature HB-2+ humbucking pickups with Alnico V magnets. The Deluxe trim package features rosewood fingerboards with pearloid block inlays; ivory body, F-hole, and fingerboard binding; pearloid Guild Peak logo and Chesterfield headstock inlays; 3-ply black and ivory top and back body purfling; a black pickguard; and a rosewood bridge base.

The Guild Starfire Deluxe Bass is a modern reimagining of the classic Starfire Bass II. Guild semi-hollow body basses were popularized in the 1960s by prominent rock players, who crafted full and rich tones aided by the instruments’ BS-1 BiSonic single-coil pickups. The Starfire Deluxe Bass is available in Sweet Tea and Teal the Deal gloss finishes.

The ten Guild Starfire I guitars include single-cutaway and double-cutaway models that feature either two HB-2 humbucking pickups or three Franz P-90 single-coil pickups—both with Alnico II magnets—and several sport classy Guild Vibrato tailpieces. The Starfire I family also includes the Starfire I-12 Cherry Red 12-string and the left-handed Starfire I DC LH Cherry Red guitars.

The Guild Starfire I bass is a modern adaptation of the traditional Starfire bass platform. Its slim body thickness, short scale length, and a relatively narrow nut width make it especially appealing to younger players and bassists with smaller hands. It features Guild BC-1 BiCoil pickups with Alnico V magnets, which deliver sounds ranging from modern and cutting to woolier old-school tones. The left-handed Starfire I Bass LH Cherry Red is also available.
