CRAFTED IN CALIFORNIA. BUILT FOR A LIFETIME.
Since 1953, Guild has built guitars that have earned a place in studios, on stages, and in the hands of generations of musicians. Today, that tradition continues at our factory in Ventura County, California, where skilled craftspeople combine time-honored techniques with modern precision to create some of the finest guitars Guild has ever made.
From rough milling and fret installation to neck fitting, finishing, buffing, and final setup, every Guild USA* guitar is built with meticulous attention to detail. The result is an instrument that reflects over seven decades of craftsmanship, innovation, and musical heritage.
Watch the video below for a look inside the Guild USA factory and see how our guitars come to life.
THE GUILD USA PROCESS
Every Guild USA guitar begins with carefully selected tonewoods and passes through the hands of experienced craftspeople at every stage of production. Necks are shaped and fitted by hand, fretboards are meticulously prepared and dressed, finishes are applied and buffed to a brilliant gloss, and each instrument receives a complete setup before leaving the factory.
The process is deliberate, precise, and deeply rooted in the traditions that have defined Guild for generations. Every detail matters because every guitar carries the Guild name.
ICONIC GUILD USA MODELS
For decades, Guild guitars have helped shape the sound of folk, rock, blues, and beyond. Among the many instruments that have defined our history, these three models stand as enduring examples of Guild craftsmanship.
GUILD F-512
For generations, the F-512 has set the standard for what a 12-string acoustic can be. Introduced during the golden era of Guild acoustics, its commanding jumbo body, solid Sitka spruce top, and solid Indian rosewood back and sides produce the unmistakable shimmer, depth, and projection that have made Guild 12-strings legendary. From recording studios to concert stages, the F-512 has become a trusted companion of countless musicians, continuing a legacy of craftsmanship that remains unmatched today.
GUILD M-20
Few guitars capture the beauty of simplicity like the M-20. Built with an all-solid mahogany body, its compact concert shape delivers a warm, articulate voice that responds effortlessly to every nuance of a player's touch. Long celebrated by songwriters and fingerstyle players, the M-20 features an understated design that allows its rich, organic tone to take center stage. Handcrafted in Ventura County, California, it remains one of Guild's most enduring instruments—proof that timeless design never goes out of style.
GUILD D-55
The D-55 has long stood as the flagship of Guild's dreadnought lineup, representing the highest level of American craftsmanship and acoustic performance. Its solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides deliver exceptional clarity, powerful low end, and remarkable dynamic range, making it equally at home in the studio or on stage. Elegant appointments, meticulous craftsmanship, and decades of heritage have made the D-55 one of the most respected acoustic guitars in Guild's history—and a benchmark for players seeking uncompromising tone and performance.
A LEGACY THAT CONTINUES
Guild's story spans more than seventy years, but our focus remains the same: building exceptional instruments that inspire musicians. Every Guild USA guitar represents a commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and the enduring connection between player and instrument.
