I recently tooj delivery of my new Jetstar, so gorgeous in seafoam green. The first thing I noticed when I unpacked it was a very comfortable weight. The set up was absolutely perfect. The intonation was spot-on, the neck played extremely well with very low and smooth action and it was even perfectly in tune. Upon a close visual inspection I found the fit and finish to be nothing short of outstanding. All the parts and components seem to be of the highest quality, betraying the guitar’s very modest price tag. Having listened to countless videos on YouTube of the Guild guitars equipped with “Little Buckers” I expected them to sound lovely, and they surely did. There are many dual-coil pickups that claim to combine the warmth, fatness and depth of traditional humbuckers with the clarity and high end of single coil pick ups. The LB1 really delivers. They also deserve high praise for being very responsive to picking intensity. Any subtlety and nuance you put into your playing comes through clearly and just the way you wanted it. Adjusting the volume and tone controls gave subtle and useful changes in tone. I expected the Jetstar to be a very good guitar, but I was still very pleasantly surprised! I have simply fallen in love with this instrument. Everything about it is of outstanding quality, and is an utter joy to play: for the ears, for the eyes and for the hands.

I’ve played guitar since the early 1980s, and this is one of the very best guitars I have ever played, and I don’t mean “in this price range”, I mean “in any price range!”
