Overview and Body Design

The M-260E Deluxe offers upgraded appointments and features to the “M” concert-sized acoustics in Guild’s 200 series lineup. Taking after the flagship USA-made M-20, the M-260E carries the same reduced body dimensions and shorter scale length that have made Guild “M” models the choice of many players over the brand’s 70-year history, from folk singer-songwriter Nick Drake to indie-pop hitmaker Beabadoobee. Thanks to its archback design, this acoustic delivers a powerful voice with its small body and is perfect for fingerstyle playing and light strumming.

Archback

Guild was the first guitar manufacturer to introduce back arching on flat-top acoustic instruments and this defining build technique sets Guild guitars apart. An archback creates:

  • Tone Projection – a deeper and contoured body chamber that increases projection
  • Weight Reduction – no back bracing which reduces weight and improves resonance
  • Strength – arching creates structure and strength, adding durability. Made to be Played.

“M” Concert Body Shape

First introduced in 1957 on the M-20, Guild’s M Concert body shape has stood the test of time for nearly 70 years. This acoustic shape is comfortable for smaller players, makes for a great songwriting companion, and is ideal for fingerstyle playing and light strumming.

Exotic Woods

Solid Spruce top with Striped Ebony back and sides. Striped Ebony has an exotic look with an intricate grain pattern reminiscent of Rosewood, but slightly darker with complementary brown striping.

200 “Deluxe” Trim Level

Stepping up from our standard 200 series, the Deluxe trim package includes a bound fingerboard, gloss body with satin neck, additional body purfling inlay, Mother-of-Pearl headstock and rosette inlay, and Guild Vintage 18 Open Gear tuning machines with 18:1 gear ratio.

Additional Premium Materials

Real bone nut and saddle and Rosewood fingerboard

Fishman x Guild GT-1 Pickup System

Volume and tone controls are conveniently mounted inside the soundhole for easy access. No drilling is required for this pickup system featuring a Fishman S-Core pickup, which preserves the beauty of your acoustic guitar.
