Guild pioneered acoustic bass guitar design in the mid-1970s with the B-50, which featured a jumbo body shape, arched mahogany back, and an easy to play, 30 3/4” scale length. The subsequent B-30 expanded this legacy and Guild acoustic basses can be heard across musical genres, from Jack Cassidy to Nirvana’s famed MTV Unplugged Acoustic performance.
Decades later, these vintage features are back with our B-240E. Designed to embody both tradition and innovation while delivering value and accessibility as part of the Guild Westerly Collection, the B-240E offers bassists a workhorse acoustic instrument with big tone that plays with ease.
Built with a solid Sitka Spruce top over an arched mahogany back and mahogany sides, the B-240E offers warm and rich bass tones that hold their own in acoustic jams and higher amplified volumes using the onboard Guild x Fishman BT-1 Pickup System. The B-240E features a Pau Ferro fingerboard and bridge, slim C shape neck profile, 1 5/8” bone nut and bone saddle, tortoiseshell pickguard, and a mother-of-pearl rosette inlay. The tuning machines offer stable and smooth intonation with an 18:1 gear ratio and Fishtail buttons in a sleek Smoked Black finish. Available in Antique Charcoal Burst finish exclusively at Guitar Center. Also available in Natural and fretless (B-240E and B-240EF).
